Consumer Product Relationships Report
Students will identify examples of consumer-product relationships in society or in their own lives. The text identifies four specific types: self-concept attachment, nostalgic attachment, interdependence, and love. Please provide an example of each of these.
Students should describe one example of each of the following relationships:
- Self-concept attachment: The product helps to establish the user’s identity.
- Nostalgic attachment: The product serves as a link with a past self.
- Interdependence: The product is a part of the user’s daily routine.
- Love: The product elicits emotional bonds of warmth, passion, or other strong emotion.
This assignment will help students differentiate between the types and relate each to their personal experiences. The learning outcomes associated with this assignment include application of psychological and neurological foundations that influence consumer behavior and analyzing specific models of consumer behavior and purchase decision frameworks that inform marketing strategies.
In a real-world work situation, this assignment will enable students to assess the type of relationship a brand they are working for has with their customers and society at large and develop strategic briefs and tactics to ensure that the brand stays true to that relationship type. project
