In Unit 1, you will identify the organization you will use for the course project. You will also identify the organization’s mission and goals along with the organization’s business need. This business need will be an important frame for the development of your onboarding employee orientation program. You will want to make sure that your onboarding employee orientation program addresses the business need. In order to best address that business need, you will also want to do an analysis regarding the source of that business need, what are the reasons for this problem/business need?
Before designing and implementing any training intervention, the business strategy must be determined. The business strategy is essential for decisions related to whether or not to provide the training, how to allocate resources and how to prioritize training. One way to frame business strategy is competitive advantage.
Business strategy/competitive advantage can be determined using a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats). For the purposes of this course, please reduce a SWOT to three questions regarding competition.
