Global threats in the Middle East Egypt was embroiled in a citizen-led political revolution for much of 2011. Long-time Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has been one of the United States’ strongest allies. Mubarak was forced to resign from his post because of political uprising. Although the long-term impact on US foreign policy in the Middle East is uncertain, it is clear that the Muslim Brotherhood seems poised to play a powerful political role in Egypt’s future as the largest Islamic social organization in the world.Tasks:
