This project will help develop your Internet skills in using the Web to research and evaluate security outsourcing services.
You have been asked to help your company’s management decide whether to outsource security or keep the security function within the firm. Search the Web to find information to help you decide whether to outsource security and to locate security outsourcing services.
Complete the following:
- Present a brief summary of the arguments for and against outsourcing computer security for your company.
- Select two firms that offer computer security outsourcing services, and compare them and their services. Include several pros and cons of each.
- Prepare an electronic presentation for management summarizing your findings. Your presentation should make the case for whether or not your company should outsource computer security. If you believe your company should outsource, the presentation should identify which security outsourcing service should be selected and justify your selection. You may use Microsoft PowerPoint for your presentation. Please include your responses to #1 and #2 in your presentation.
- Make sure your presentation includes, at a minimum:
- Title slide (title and your name).
- A brief summary of the arguments (#1).
- A comparison of the outsourcing services (#2).
- Your selection of whether or not to outsource computer security with justify (#3)
- References (typically the last slide in presentation)
Feel free to include graphics, tables, etc. in your presentation. Visuals and multimedia tend to convey meaning for the visual learner.
